An exhibition that arose from an idea that he had working little by little and from the realization of the poster of the Music Festival of Cadaquúes. In this collection of works that adopt different formats – paintings, sculptures, installations – Galdón embraces the idea of chance as a key element in the creative process. A chance that shapes ribbons or phylacteries that either wrap an image or are inserted in the form of a drawing inside it. In this sense, it is worth mentioning an artist admired by Galdón: Malevich. The Barcelona artist pays homage to the Russian Suprematist, who transformed painting into something that speaks for itself. That is why it adopts one of the shapes that Malevich made so famous, such as squares or crosses. On this basis, Galdón applies a dose of chance: dropping some tapes that are placed indistinctly. Once they have done so, he paints them, always respecting the shape they have adopted. In this way, Galdón explains, a union of effect and disorder is created. But chance is not present only in this sense. He also intervenes in Galdón’s creative process by lighting: in one of the works he uses a candle that passes over the tape. In this way, it gives light to a more irregularly shaped tape. This entire process is immortalized with a camera that captures all the varieties of lighting, thus achieving an interesting chromatic gradation.
