17.07 – 12.08.2004

Two indisputable references of the 1970s are the subject of this group exhibition, which aims to transfer the common denominator of Tàpies and Nauman, national and foreign artist, to an understanding of the works of two artists with a CV but from younger generations: the Catalan Perejaume and the New York-based Chilean Alfredo Jaar.

The change in the nature of the medium is what unites the four artists. Perejaume’s tendency to combine the lyricism of the brush with the influence of poetry or the photographic manipulations of Alfredo Jaar’s imaginary is well known.

Perejaume follows the course set by art and literature, trying to find points of contact where the two disciplines converge in favour of a never-to-be-forgotten subtlety. Perejaume sigue el curso marcado por el arte y la literatura, intentando encontrar puntos de contacto donde confluyan las dos disciplinas a favor de una sutilidad nunca olvidada. They are works born of a combination of architecture and projected image. Four artists, four interpretations of the image, a selection of works from which are presented in this exhibition consisting of a series of limited editions of Buscando a M.D. (2004) by Alfredo Jaar, Eat Death (1973) by Bruce Nauman, Les lletres i el dibuix (2004) by Perejaume and Sobre i vermell (2000) by Antoni Tàpies.
