feed my lambs

tacita dean & peter fillingham

07.04.2007

a cooperative project by tacita dean and peter fillingham with roland groenenboom

production of galeria cadaqués

in 1995, english artist peter fillingham found an abandoned building in deal, kent, with the phrase feed my lambs painted on its façade. the sentence inspired him to invite the english artist tacita dean and the dutch curator roland groenenboom. to organise an exhibition together in this building with the same title. However, before they knew it, the building was demolished and the project was put on hold until, at the opening of Art Basel in 2006, they met again and decided to activate feed my lambs. they quickly found a partner enthusiastic about the project, huc malla, owner of galeria cadaqués dos in cadaqués, spain, who proposed them to realise the project at easter 2007.
